Custom workflow, inventory and warehouse management solution for furniture industry
01. The Challenge
Magari is a one -stop-solution for home interiors, with a focus on customised one-of-a-kind furniture and interior designs. It’s vast range of products includes furniture, fabrics, lights, accessories, wallpaper, rugs, wooden flooring, bedding, wardrobes and kitchen solutions. Everything that you need for your special space, all under one roof.
Magari’s focus is on streamlining the unorganised furniture and design industry in India, by selecting the right mix of materials, vendors and ideas. However, the lack of automation and the manual processes were slowing down processes, causing confusion and delays. Standard ERP software solutions were too expensive and time consuming and required a great deal of customisation, as Magari’s processes were unique and perfected over time.
02. The Solution
An automated and highly customised workflow management solution was the answer. It would require a great deal of analysis and understanding of Magari’s internal processes and intuitive enough to allow its staff to manage operations without having to undergo extensive IT training.
The custom built application will also have to integrate with Magari’s online ecommerce store using the Shopify API.
03. The Result
We developed a web-based quotation and workflow management solution for a leading furniture manufacturing company in Bengaluru, India. It included a web based administrative panel to monitor and manage quotes, sales staff and product catalogues.
The features for the admin include the management of sub-admins, staff, customers, vendors, product categories, catalogue items, custom products, quotations and purchase orders. Admin can also generate work orders. Admin users with appropriate permission can approve the delivery of products within a quotation. The users with delivery approval checks the QC confirmation and dispatch readiness of items in a quotation.
Through a private admin panel, the sales staff could manage products, customers and quotations. The staff will have the option to generate a quotation for a customer. Generating a quotation will require staff to enter the following details:
- Select existing or add new customer
- Select products & Quantity
- Discount if any to be applied on the items
Work is currently underway to implement the Inventory & Warehouse management module for Magari, that would work in tandem with the existing quotation tool as well as the ecommerce application (Shopify API). This would include store management, warehouse replenishment, manage offline and online orders, manage inventory and vendors.
Though the vendor panel, vendors can manage purchase orders and get notifications.
